Mexico City 2007

During the first 10 days of March, Cesar went to Mexico City, now the largest city in the world, for a short-term trip with a church that came from Solomon’s Temple from Saint Louis, Missouri. They came with 26 participants. Most of them were adults. We worked with a pastor named Ignacio Diaz and stayed at the facilities of the Salvation Army. The actual ministry sites were located about one hour away on the east side of city.  The name of the colonia where we worked was col. San Agustin, in the larger colonia called col. Neza.

During the trip we did Vacation Bible School, evangelism, and visited the outside of a prison and talked with the relatives that were visiting someone in prison. We also ministered in an orphanage and a retirement center. We preached out in the open at two market places and two plazas. We had several nurses test people for high blood preasure and each night Bishop Holloway preached a message at pastor Ignacio’s church. The central message of the week at the night services was the family. Many came for prayer after the message. The participants from Solomon’s Temple were more that ready and available to pray for these wonderful people from the Mexican church and people that came from the community because they were invited during the day. It was reported by pastor Ignacio that over 50 people indicated a decision to follow Jesus.

It was a very challenging week because we worked from 8am until 9pm each day. It was also a very rewarding week because more that 50 people made decision for Jesus. The members from Solomon’s Temple were also able to stain some of the church pews and they built pastor Ignacio a new office.

Joann Pena served as staff and translator on this trip and did a fantastic job. The ladies from Solomon’s Temple appreciated so much.
