Bringing LIGHT to Puerto Rico

What is it that you crave most in life? Is it chocolate, a vacation, or security? The research shows that what we really crave most is connection. (Anatomy of the Soul by Curt Thompson M.D). We have a deep desire to be connected to one another. And, this physical and emotional need is not limited to people. We also have a longing to be connected to the Father.

Connecting people to Jesus is what Adventures in Missions is doing. This summer in Puerto Rico, we are connecting to the people there by helping to repair their homes and restore their hope. There are still about 100,000 homes with blue tarps protecting them from the elements. We will be repairing roofs and building a relationship with them with the love of Jesus.

We will also connect with them by literally bringing them a light to share about The Light. Cesar found these amazing solar powered lights called SolarPuff. The government is working hard to restore power to Puerto Rico, but in the meantime so many homes still lack electricity. Flashlights use batteries, and candles need replacing, but the SolarPuff uses power from the sun to light the houses at night. We plan to give these out to families who need them and use it as a way to also share about Jesus. We are raising extra funds to be able to do this and are able to get them at $15 each (50% discount). Our goal is to raise $I,000. If you would like to partner with us in providing these lights, you can send us a check or go to www.gofundme.com/solar-puff-lamp to make a donation.

Cesar will be helping with projects to Puerto Rico for 5 weeks between June 15th and July 26th. Around 300 people will be coming with us to serve. Cesar will have a lot of roles: setting up logistics, leading, translating, coordinating construction, etc. Jennifer will be there June 15-22nd and is excited to meet the pastors and people that Cesar has been working with for so long as well as ministering alongside him. Please pray that God would open the hearts of the Puerto Rican people that they would see the great love that He has for them.

Thank you for all of your prayers and support for this ministry! We want to pray for you too. Cesar and I have been through so much and know how much it means to have people pray. We are blessed to be connected to Jesus and that connects us more to you as well. Do you have someone in your family that is sick? Do you have a relational or financial situation that needs prayer? Is stress a big issue right now? Just hit reply to this email or give us a call. Cesar (770) 718-7341 Jennifer (678) 997-6768.
